Embedded in the BAA team our specialists were involved in
delivering early solutions for the development of Heathrow, within
the context of three capacity limits:
- ‘Within Existing Limits’
- Mixed mode
- Runway 3/Terminal 6
We provided concept design solutions for strategic and local access
to new facilities and developed high level assessment matrices to
enable options to be filtered and robust comparisons made. A number
of the tools used for this task are also referenced below.
The work sought to value engineer the government’s indicative
solution published in the Aviation White Paper and to find ways of
mitigating the impact of the necessary road network for the new
runway and terminal.
