Mott MacDonald at Terminal 5

Intro

As one of BAA’s first-tier integrated suppliers, Mott MacDonald has been design engineer for all the substructures and foundations at Terminal 5. We have also provided rail assurance and integration services for the new Heathrow Express and Piccadilly Line extensions, tunnelling advice and project and programme management.

BAA’s Heathrow Terminal 5 is one of the most acclaimed construction projects of recent years. The site covers 260ha, equivalent to the size of London’s Hyde Park. Costing approximately £4.3 billion, the terminal has taken an estimated 37 million man hours to build and holds the capacity to serve some 30 million passengers a year.
